SMITH Richard Alexander , Port Hastings SMITH Richard Alexander 88, Port Hastings passed away May 31, 2012 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Dundee he was the son of the late John Allan and Ella Mae (MacLane) Smith, he was a retired employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation. He is survived by his daughters Julia Greene, Okangan Falls, B.C., Pauline (Ron) MacDougall, Port Hawkesbury; Valerie (Robert) Tremblay, Troy; Grandchildren John F. Greene , Rachael Greene, Richard MacDougall, Scott MacDougall, Ashley Mac Dougall, a sister Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Christina “Peggy”, and son Paul; brothers Charles, William, and Roy in infancy; sisters Christina, Isabel and Florence. Resting in Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm from where a vigil service will be held at 1:30 pm. Funeral Tuesday 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Andrew Boyd, presiding, burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
