Flora Ann Mac Lean – Long Point MACLEAN Flora Ann, 93 of Long Point, passed away August 30, 2013 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born in Judique South, she was a daughter of the late John A. “Long John” and Jessie (O’Handley) Mac Donald.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Parish, Judique. She was employed locally in her teens. She worked in Toronto before and during WWII in the John Inglis plant, Flora returned home (Long Point) in 1946, to raise her family on the MacLean Farm.
A lover of Celtic music and the Gaelic, she was well known for her homemade butter and cheese as well as her daily walks.
She is survived by her sons, Hughie John (Susan), St. Paul, Minnesota; Winston James (Rose), Vancouver Island BC; Frank A. (Paula), Richard D., both of Long Point, Angus Gerard(Angela), Edmonton; Dr. Stanley Stephen (Jessica), South Korea; daughters Marie B. (Dave) Giles, Mississauga Ontario; Helen Ann (Gord) Griffith, Long Point; Sarah Elizabeth (Jere) Chisholm, Whitecourt Alberta; Kathleen J.MacLean, Long Point; grand children Eric, Beth, Mark, Marisa, Kelly, Cheryl, Garrett, Kirk, Keane, Lindsay, Adele, Sasha, Jarrett, Michelle, Natalie, Ashley, Kevin; great grandchildren Elaine, Robert, Jon, Hunter, Brooklyn, Ronan, Fiona, Alistair, Cosima, Cadence; sisters Theresa Avery, Newtown Ma, Christine Moroso, Sudbury Ontario, an extended family of grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands John D. Mac Lean (1954) and Angus J. MacLean (1995); brothers John Archie, Donald Angus, Hughie Angus and Angus J., in infancy; sisters Sarah McNeill, Kay Nicholson; daughter in law Yvonne Mac Lean; grand children Melanie Mac Lean and Keith MacLean; great grand child Nicholas Giles.
Resting in Port Hood and Area Resting Place on Wednesday from 2-9 pm, Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 11 am from St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Judique, with Rev. Allan MacMillan presiding, burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
